Frequently Asked Questions

When do I need to see a podiatrist?

If you are experiencing persistent foot pain, discomfort or notice any abnormalities like bunions, thickened or ingrown nails, corns or hard skin on your feet, you are in the right place!

Seeking professional help from a foot specialist early can prevent minor issues from escalating into more serious foot problems.

It is especially important to see a podiatrist if you have underlying conditions that can affect your feet, such as diabetes.

We can work with you to provide a tailored treatment plan to ensure you get back to optimum foot health in no time!

(And advice to help maintain it!)

What is the difference between a chiropodist and a podiatrist?

In theory, not much!

Podiatry is just the modern term for chiropody. In order to call yourself a podiatrist, you have to have a degree in Podiatry and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Both podiatrists and chiropodists are foot specialists who are trained to diagnose, treat, and prevent a wide range of foot problems.

Which areas do you cover for home visits?

We provide mobile foot care services in Inverness, Nairn, Drumnadrochit and places in-between.

If you are unsure if you fit within this radius, please get in touch and we can figure something out!

We also run a podiatry clinic at The Oxygen Works, Inverness on Friday mornings. If you would prefer a clinic appointment here rather than a home visit, contact us directly to book your space!

Do I need to do anything in preparation for my appointment?

All you need to do ahead of your appointment, is to please complete the form we send to you via e-mail and remove any nail polish if relevant.

For your podiatry home visit, you will need comfortable chair ready to relax in for your foot care treatment; preferably in an area with a good light source

We will take care of everything else.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let us know and we will happily reassure you. No worries are too small or questions too silly!

We want to make sure your experience with Pop-up Podiatry is as easy and pleasant as possible!
